Albert Dock is the most visited of the Liverpool attractions, visit the stunning Albert Dock which showcases the best of the city in a World Heritage, waterfront setting. Albert Dock is the largest group of Grade I listed buildings in Britain -1.25 million square feet - and was built to the design of engineer/architect Jesse Hartley. Plans were submitted in 1839, approved in 1841 and the Dock was officially opened on 30 July 1846 by Prince Albert. Situated in the largest group of Grade I listed buildings in the UK, the Albert Dock houses two hotels Premier Inn and Holiday Inn Express as well as many award winning visitor attractions including Tate Liverpool, the famous Beatles Story, Merseyside Maritime Museum, International Slavery Museum, BugWorld Experience and right on our doorstep the 60 metre high Echo Wheel located on the Piazza outside the Echo Arena and Convention Centre.
