Albert Dock is the most visited of the Liverpool attractions, visit the stunning Albert Dock which showcases the best of the city in a World Heritage, waterfront setting.

Albert Dock is the largest group of Grade I listed buildings in Britain -1.25 million square feet - and was built to the design of engineer/architect Jesse Hartley. Plans were submitted in 1839, approved in 1841 and the Dock was officially opened on 30 July 1846 by Prince Albert.

Situated in the largest group of Grade I listed buildings in the UK, the Albert Dock houses two hotels Premier Inn and Holiday Inn Express as well as many award winning visitor attractions including Tate Liverpool, the famous Beatles Story, Merseyside Maritime Museum, International Slavery Museum,  BugWorld Experience and right on our doorstep the 60 metre high Echo Wheel located on the Piazza outside the Echo Arena and Convention Centre.

You can join a number of fascinating Liverpool tours, including the creepy Shiverpool Ghost Tour or a city and water tour on The Yellow Duckmarine or The Yellow Boat Cruise. There are also a great selection of Liverpool bars and restaurants.

Getting there:

On Foot
The Albert Dock is a twenty-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street train station and can be accessed through Liverpool One or through the Paradise Street bus station (Canning Place) via Hanover Street. All pedestrian routes are well signposted.

By Car
From Birkenhead and the M62 Motorway, follow the brown tourist signs to the Albert Dock. From the M53 Motorway, head north-bound from Ellesmere Port/Birkenhead through the Wallasey (Kingsway) Tunnel into Liverpool. Merge onto Scotland Road and at the traffic lights turn right. From here follow the brown tourist signs to the Albert Dock.  From the A41 and Birkenhead, follow the A41 until you see directions to the Queensway Tunnel which will take you into Liverpool.
